INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

First perform the communication function inspections in HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this symptom.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (LUGGAGE ROOM LIGHT)


    1. Using the GTS, perform the Active Test.

  2. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION


    1. Check the malfunctioning luggage room light.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the S34 light connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S63-11 (LGLP) - S34-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      S34-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S63-11 (LGLP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT (OPERATION)


    1. Temporarily replace the No. 1 luggage compartment light or No. 2 courtesy light with a new or normally functioning one Click here.

    2. Check the No. 1 luggage compartment light operation.

      OK
      No. 1 luggage compartment light or No. 2 courtesy light operation is normal.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 COURTESY LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the S62 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the S26 light connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S62-8 (LGCY) - S26-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      S26-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S62-8 (LGCY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK NO. 2 COURTESY LIGHT (OPERATION)


    1. Temporarily replace the No. 2 courtesy light or No. 1 luggage compartment light with a new or normally functioning one Click here.

    2. Check the No. 2 courtesy light operation.

  9. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the S36 luggage door closer Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      7 (CTY) - 8 (E) Unlock Below 1 Ω
      7 (CTY) - 8 (E) Lock 10 kΩ or higher

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR - LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER)

    1. Disconnect the S43 motor connector.

    2. Disconnect the S36 closer connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
