INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

First perform the communication function inspections in HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this symptom.

PROCEDURE


  1. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION


    1. Check the malfunctioning door mirror foot light.

      Result

    PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT) Click here

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT)


    1. Using the GTS, perform the Active Test.

      Driver Door (for LHD)
      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Foot Light Door mirror foot light illumination OFF / ON -
      Passenger Door (for RHD)
      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Foot Light Door mirror foot light illumination OFF / ON -
      OK
      Door mirror foot light (for driver side) condition is switched by Active Test.

    NG

    CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (OPERATION) Click here

    OK

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

  3. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (OPERATION)


    1. Temporarily replace the outer rear view mirror with a new or normally functioning one Click here.

      Tech Tips

      This inspection is also possible when interchanging the RH and LH outer rear view mirrors.

    2. Check the outer rear view mirror operation.

      OK
      Outer rear view mirror operation is normal.

    END (REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH) Click here

  4. CHECK FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH (OPERATION)


    1. Temporarily replace the front multiplex network door ECU LH with a new or normally functioning one Click here.

    2. Check the outer rear view mirror operation.

      OK
      Outer rear view mirror operation is normal.

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

    OK

    END (REPLACE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH) Click here

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT)


    1. Using the GTS, perform the Active Test.

      Passenger Door (for LHD)
      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Foot Light Door mirror foot light illumination OFF / ON -
      Driver Door (for RHD)
      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Foot Light Door mirror foot light illumination OFF / ON -
      OK
      Door mirror foot light (for front passenger side) condition is switched by Active Test.

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

  6. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH (OPERATION)


    1. Temporarily replace the outer rear view mirror with a new or normally functioning one Click here.

      Tech Tips
