ENTRY AND START SYSTEM Luggage Compartment Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate when Key is Outside Luggage Compartment

DESCRIPTION

When the entry luggage compartment open function does not operate, one of the following may be the cause: 1) luggage compartment door opener switch malfunction; 2) power trunk lid system malfunction; 3) communication malfunction between electrical key antenna and electrical key transmitter; 4) the power trunk lid ECU (luggage closer motor) receives the luggage electrical key switch ON signal, but is unable to send the signal to the certification ECU through CAN communication; or 5) certification ECU malfunction.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Before replacing the television camera (luggage electrical key switch), refer to the parking assist monitor system initialization Click here.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK ENTRY AND START SYSTEM

    1. Check that the entry lock and unlock function can be operated at each door.

    NG
    OK
  2. CHECK LUGGAGE DOOR OPENER OPERATION

    1. When the luggage compartment door opener switch is operated, check that the luggage compartment door opens.

      OK
      Luggage compartment door opens

    NG
    OK
  3. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (BACK DOOR HANDLE SW)

    1. Using the intelligent tester read the Data List.

Back Door Handle SW Luggage electrical key switch / ON or OFF

ON: Luggage electrical key switch is pushed

OFF: Luggage electrical key switch is not pushed

      -

      Tech Tips

For vehicles with the power trunk lid system, the Data List of the power trunk lid ECU can be used to check the luggage electrical key switch information. For vehicles without the power trunk lid system, the Data List of the luggage room junction block ECU can be used to check the luggage electrical key switch information.

      OK
On intelligent tester screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

    NG
    OK
  4. CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT

    1. A01H1YVE09

Bring the electrical key transmitter near the electrical key antenna (in rear bumper), and perform an entry luggage compartment open function check.

      Note

If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.) of the rear bumper, communication is not possible.

      Tech Tips

      • When the electrical key transmitter is brought near the electrical key antenna, the possibility of wave interference decreases, and it can be determined if wave interference is causing the problem symptom.

      • If the inspection result is that the operation check is normal, the possibility of wave interference is high. Also, added vehicle components may cause wave interference. If installed, remove them and perform the operation check.

      OK
      Luggage compartment door open.

    NG
    OK
  5. CHECK KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE

    1. A01H1YVE07

Diagnostic mode inspection (rear inside oscillator)

      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the power switch ON (IG).

      3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

      4. Enter the following menus:

        Select: Body / Entry&Start / Key Communication Check / Overhead + Luggage.

      5. When the electrical key transmitter is held at the same height as the rear bumper upper surface and aligned with the center of the rear of the vehicle, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds*.

        Tech Tips

        • If the buzzer sounds, it can be determined that the luggage compartment exterior transmitter is operating normally.

        • *: For Europe and China, the wireless door lock buzzer does not sound.

        OK
        Wireless door lock buzzer sounds

    NG
    OK
  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA - CERTIFICATION ECU)

    A01GX0EE01

    1. Disconnect the R40 antenna connector.

    2. Disconnect the L15 ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
