  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE QUARTER PANEL PLATE

    Tech Tips

    When removing the quarter panel plate, heat the vehicle body and quarter panel plate using a heat light.

    Standard Heating Temperature
    Item Temperature
    Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Quarter Panel Plate 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the vehicle body or quarter panel plate excessively.


    1. Put protective tape around the quarter panel plate.

    2. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and quarter panel plate.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    4. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the quarter panel plate to the vehicle body.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    5. Remove the quarter panel plate.
