OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH


    1. for Manual Seat:

      Remove the front seat RH Click here.

    2. for Power Seat:

      Remove the front seat RH Click here.

    3. for Bench Seat Type:

      Remove the front seat RH Click here.

  2. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE RH (for Manual Seat)

    *1 Protective Tape

    1. Raise the reclining adjuster release handle to reveal the claw. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the handle.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  3. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE RH (for Bench Seat Type)

      Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle RH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  4. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB (for Power Seat)

    1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 claws and remove the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.

  5. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB (for Power Seat)

    1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 claws and remove the reclining power seat switch knob.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH (for Manual Seat)

      Remove the screw.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 claws and clip, and then remove the cushion shield.

    3. A01DTS3

      for Driver Side:

      Detach the 5 wire harness clamps and disconnect the 2 connectors.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH (for Bench Seat Type)

      Detach the 2 rubber bands.

    2. A01DO1FE01

      Remove the screw.

    3. Detach the hook and claw.

    4. Detach the clip and guide, and remove the front seat cushion shield RH.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH (for Power Seat)


    1. Disconnect the lifter motor connector.

    2. Remove the screw of the front seat No. 1 inner cushion shield LH and detach the guide.

    3. Detach the clip of the front seat No. 1 inner cushion shield LH.

    4. Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 claws and guide.

    5. Move the front seat cushion shield LH in the direction of the arrow to detach the clip and remove the front seat No. 1 inner cushion shield LH together with the front seat cushion shield LH as a unit.

      Detach the 3 claws and open the wire harness cover.

    7. Detach the 3 wire harness clamps and disconnect the seat wire connector.

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD RH (for Separate Seat Type)

    1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 claws and remove the cushion shield.

  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (for Separate Seat Type)


    1. for Manual Seat, Power Seat 4 Way Seat Type:

      Disconnect the 2 connectors and detach the 3 clamps.

    2. for Power Seat 8 Way Seat Type:

      Disconnect the 2 connectors and detach the 6 clamps.

    3. Remove the nut and front seat inner belt assembly RH.

    4. Remove the front seat belt anchor plate.

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (for Bench Seat Type)

      Remove the front seat assembly RH Click here.

    2. Disconnect the occupant detection sensor connector and detach the 3 wire harness clamps.

    3. Remove the nut.

      Pass the front seat inner belt assembly RH through the band of the front seat cushion cover as shown in the illustration to remove the front seat inner belt assembly RH.

  12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD (for Separate Seat Type)

      w/ Seat Heater System:

      Disconnect the seat heater connector and detach the 3 wire harness clamps.

    2. Detach the hooks.

      for Front Passenger Side:

      Detach the claw and disconnect the connector.

    4. Remove the seat cushion cover with pad.

  13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD (for Bench Seat Type)

      Bend out the 2 cushion edge tabs.

      Note

      Be careful not to break the cushion edge tabs.

    2. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    3. Remove the hog ring and detach the hooks.

      Detach the 2 clamps and remove the connector holder.

    5. Remove the front seat cushion cover with pad from the front seat frame assembly with adjuster RH.

  14. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD (OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR) (for Separate Seat Type)

      Type A:


      1. Remove the hog rings and disconnect the straps.

      Type B:


      1. Cut off the tack pins and disconnect the straps.

      Remove the hog rings and separate type front seat cushion pad (occupant detection sensor) from the seat cushion cover.

  15. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD (OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR) (for Bench Seat Type)


    1. Remove the hog rings.

      Detach the hook.

      Cut off the tack pin.

    4. Remove the hog rings and separate type front seat cushion pad from the separate type front seat cushion cover.
