DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when LIN communication between the certification ECU and steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU) stops for 10 seconds or more.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note:
  • When using the intelligent tester with the ignition switch off to troubleshoot:

    Connect the intelligent tester to the vehicle and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle begins.

  • Inspect the fuses and bulbs for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

Tip:

When communication between the steering lock ECU and certification ECU stops, DTC B2785 is also stored.

    CLEAR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).


  2. Click here

    CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

      OK
      DTC B2786 is not output.

  3. Click here

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - STEERING LOCK ECU)


    1. Disconnect the G38 certification ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the G35 steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G38-29 (LIN) - G35-5 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      G38-29 (LIN) or G35-5 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING LOCK ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. A01DUUCE05

      Disconnect the G35 steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G35-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G35-6 (IG2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      G35-7 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    1. Temporarily replace the steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU) with a new one.
