VACUUM PUMP (for 1KD-FTV) DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE CHECK VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Mount the pump in a vise.

      Note

      Place aluminum plates on the vise to prevent damage to the pump.

    2. Remove the union bolt, union and 2 gaskets.

      Remove the check valve and gasket.

  2. REMOVE VACUUM PUMP END COVER

    1. Remove the 3 bolts.

      Using a 5 mm pin punch and hammer, tap out the 2 straight pins.

    3. Remove the end cover and 2 O-rings.

  3. REMOVE VACUUM PUMP ROTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the rotor together with the 5 blades.

      Note

      Be careful not to drop the blades.

  4. REMOVE VACUUM PUMP BLADE


    1. Remove the 5 blades from the rotor.

  5. REMOVE VACUUM PUMP GEAR

    1. Mount the gear in a vise.

      Note

      Place aluminum plates on the vise to prevent damage to the gear.

    2. Remove the gear lock nut.

    3. Remove the gear and woodruff key.

  6. REMOVE VACUUM PUMP SHAFT

    1. Using snap ring pliers, remove the snap ring.

    2. A01DURG

      Using a plastic-faced hammer, tap out the shaft.

  7. REMOVE VACUUM PUMP BEARING

    A01DQMC

    1. Using a 17 mm socket wrench and press, press out the bearing.
