VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM (for Hydraulic Brake Booster) TC and CG Terminal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

DTC output mode is set by connecting terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.

Tech Tips

When each warning light continues blinking, a ground short in the wiring of terminal TC of the DLC3 or an internal ground short in each ECU is suspected.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT DLC3


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G48-13 (TC) - G48-4 (CG) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

  2. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    5. Select CAN Bus Check from the System Selection Menu screen and follow the prompts on the screen to inspect the CAN bus (for LHD: Click here, for RHD: Click here.

      OK
      CAN Bus Check indicates no malfunctions in CAN communication.

  3. CHECK DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    5. Check for DTCs (for LHD: Click here, for RHD: Click here.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - DLC3)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. for 1GR-FE:

      Disconnect the G56 ECM connector.

      for 1KD-FTV:

      Disconnect the G58 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for 1GR-FE
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G56-28 (TC) - G48-13 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      for 1KD-FTV
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G58-23 (TC) - G48-13 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - BODY GROUND)


    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      G48-4 (CG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  6. CHECK ECM (DLC3 INPUT)


    1. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
