REAR COIL SPRING (w/o Air Suspension) REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER LOWER BRACKET (w/ KDSS)


    1. A01DOES

      Remove the 4 bolts and 2 rear stabilizer lower brackets.

  3. DISCONNECT REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Support the rear axle housing.

    2. A01DTS0

      Remove the bolt on the lower side of the shock absorber.

    3. Disconnect the shock absorber from the axle housing.

  4. DISCONNECT REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE


    1. A01DN84

      Disconnect each brake tube from the rear flexible hose with a union nut wrench while holding the rear flexible hose with a wrench.

    2. Remove the 2 clips.

    3. Remove the rear flexible hose.

    4. A01DN06

      Disconnect each brake tube from the rear flexible hose with a union nut wrench while holding the rear flexible hose with a wrench.

    5. Remove the 2 clips.

    6. Remove the rear flexible hose.

  5. REMOVE REAR COIL SPRING LH


    1. While lowering the axle housing, remove the coil spring.

      Note

      Be careful not to snap the brake line and parking brake cable.

  6. REMOVE HOLLOW SPRING SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 5 Door)


    1. Remove the hollow spring from the frame.
