STARTER (for 2.7 kW Type) REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY

    Install the starter armature to the starter yoke.

  2. INSTALL STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY


    1. Place the starter brush holder on the starter yoke.

    2. A01DUG9

      Install the starter brushes to the starter brush holder.


      1. Using a screwdriver, pull back spring.

      2. Install the brush to the brush holder.

        Note

        Make sure that the positive (+) lead wires are not grounded.

    3. A01DQOA

      Install the commutator end frame with the 2 screws.

      Torque:
      3.6 N*m  { 37 kgf*cm, 32 in.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL MAGNET STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Apply high temperature grease to the steel ball, return spring, clutch roller, retainer and idler gear.

    2. A01DP91

      Insert the steel ball into the starter clutch hole.

    3. Insert the return spring into the starter clutch hole.

      *6 Starter Housing

      Install the starter clutch, idler gear, retainer and clutch roller to the starter housing.

    5. A01DLTH

      Install the magnet starter switch with the 3 screws.

      Torque:
      9.3 N*m  { 95 kgf*cm, 82 in.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the felt washer to the starter armature.

      *2 Groove

      Align the claw of the starter yoke with the groove of the starter switch and install the starter yoke to the starter switch.

    3. Install the starter yoke to the starter switch.

      *1 Terminal C

      Install the 2 through bolts.

      Torque:
      9.3 N*m  { 95 kgf*cm, 82 in.*lbf }

    5. Connect the lead wire to terminal C with the nut.

      Torque:
      24 N*m  { 245 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }
