EXHAUST PIPE (w/ DPF) REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the tailpipe from the exhaust pipe support.

    2. Remove the gasket.

  2. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

      for 3 Door:

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs, and then disconnect the center exhaust pipe from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    2. A01DUWM

      for 5 Door:


      1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs, and then disconnect the center exhaust pipe from the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

      2. A01DQ4S

        Remove the 2 bolts and exhaust pipe damper.

      3. Remove the nuts and No. 1 exhaust pipe heat insulator.

    3. Remove the gasket.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACKET LH (for Manual Transmission)

    1. Remove the 4 bolts and front suspension member bracket LH.

  4. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACKET RH (for Manual Transmission)

    1. Remove the 4 bolts and front suspension member bracket RH.

  5. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACKET RH (for Automatic Transmission)

      Remove the 8 bolts, front bracket suspension member LH and front bracket suspension member RH.

  6. SUPPORT TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER ASSEMBLY


    1. Support the transmission and transfer with a transmission jack.

      Note

      For safety reasons, install the No. 3 frame crossmember after removing the front exhaust pipe.

  7. REMOVE NO. 3 FRAME CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)

      Remove the 4 bolts of the rear engine mounting insulator.

    2. A01DMNM

      Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts and frame crossmember.

  8. REMOVE NO. 3 FRAME CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)


    1. Support the rear side of the transmission with a support stand.

    2. A01DQER

      Remove the 4 bolts from the No. 3 frame crossmember sub-assembly.

    3. A01DOXB

      Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts and No. 3 frame crossmember sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET


    1. A01DRWA

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 exhaust pipe support bracket from the body.

  10. REMOVE NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET


    1. A01DNAU

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 3 exhaust pipe support bracket from the No. 3 frame crossmember.

  11. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR


    1. A01DM9R

      Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector and detach the clamp.

    2. A01DSACE01

      Using SST, remove the air fuel ratio sensor from the front exhaust pipe.

  12. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the exhaust gas temperature sensor connector.

    2. A01DU6V

      Disconnect the No. 2 exhaust gas temperature sensor connector.

    3. A01DP5C

      Disconnect the No. 3 exhaust gas temperature sensor connector.

    4. A01DSLS

      Disconnect the No. 6 exhaust pipe air hose from the front exhaust pipe.

    5. A01DQQR

      Disconnect the No. 7 exhaust pipe air hose from the front exhaust pipe.

    6. A01DUL9

      Remove the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the exhaust pipe supports before removing the No. 3 frame crossmember.

    7. A01DTOS

      Remove the 3 nuts and front exhaust pipe.

    8. Remove the gasket.

  13. REMOVE EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    Note

    If the sensor is dropped, replace it with a new one.


    1. Using a 14 mm union nut wrench, remove the exhaust gas temperature sensor.

  14. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    Note

    If the sensor is dropped, replace it with a new one.


    1. Using a 14 mm union nut wrench, remove the No. 2 exhaust gas temperature sensor.

  15. REMOVE NO. 3 EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    If the sensor is dropped, replace it with a new one.


    1. Detach the sensor wire harness.

    2. Using a 14 mm union nut wrench, remove the No. 3 exhaust gas temperature sensor.

  16. REMOVE NO. 3 WIRING HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

      Remove the bolt and No. 3 wiring harness clamp bracket.

  17. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01DUEP

      Remove the bolt and exhaust pipe clamp.

  18. REMOVE MONOLITHIC CONVERTER PROTECTOR


    1. A01DN0B

      Remove the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.

    2. A01DLUHE01

      *2 Lower Monolithic Converter Protector

      Remove the upper monolithic converter protector and lower monolithic converter protector.

  19. REMOVE CONVERTER PROTECTOR STAY

      Remove the 2 No. 1 converter protector stays and 2 No. 2 converter protector stays.
