C1AE7 Rear Left Center Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear center sensor LH) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear center sensor LH). If the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear center sensor LH) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

If the DTC is output after repairs, turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the TOYOTA parking assist-sensor system on. Then clear the DTC Click here.

  2. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR CENTER SENSOR LH)


    1. Replace the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear center sensor LH) with a normally functioning sensor Click here.

      Tech Tips

      All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.
