BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR REMOVAL

Note


  • Avoid any impact to the blind spot monitor sensor.

  • Do not drop the blind spot monitor sensor. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.


  1. REMOVE PINTLE HOOK ASSEMBLY (w/ Pintle Hook)

    1. For vehicles with a spare tire installed to the underbody, remove the spare tire.

    2. Remove the 4 nuts.

    3. Remove the 4 bolts and pintle hook.

  2. REMOVE JACK BOX HOLE COVER

    *1 Protective Tape

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the jack box hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  3. REMOVE REAR BUMPER BAR PLATE


    1. Put protective tape around the rear bumper bar plate.

    2. Detach the 14 claws and remove the rear bumper bar plate.

  4. REMOVE BACK DOOR CHECK

    Note


    • If the back door check is detached from a ball joint, do not reuse it as the connection with the ball joint will be loose, resulting in the back door check falling off.

    • If the back door check is detached from a ball joint, it becomes non-reusable. Therefore, do not detach the back door check from a ball joint unless replacing it.


    1. A01DRUY

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the clip and remove the back door check with back door lower damper stay bracket.

    3. A01DPCK

      Detach the wire harness clamp.

    4. Remove the 3 bolts and back door check with back door lower damper stay bracket.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 REAR BUMPER PLATE


    1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 rear bumper plate.

    2. Detach the 10 claws and 10 guides and remove the No. 1 rear bumper plate.

  6. REMOVE REAR QUARTER PANEL MUDGUARD LH

    1. Remove the 2 clips and 5 screws.

    2. Remove the rear quarter panel mudguard.

  7. REMOVE REAR QUARTER PANEL MUDGUARD RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  8. REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER


    1. Put protective tape around the rear bumper cover.

    2. Remove the 2 clips and 6 bolts.

    3. Detach the 14 claws.

    4. w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System, w/ Rear Fog Light:

      Disconnect the 4 connectors.

    5. w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System, w/o Rear Fog Light:

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    6. w/o TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System, w/ Rear Fog Light:

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    7. Remove the rear bumper cover.

  9. REMOVE BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and blind spot monitor sensor LH.

  10. REMOVE BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and blind spot monitor sensor RH.
