If GPS satellite signals cannot be acquired for 10 consecutive miles, this DTC is set.

If either DTC B15C0 or B15C1 is output at the same time as B1583, perform troubleshooting for DTC B15C0 or B15C1 first.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that there are no problems with the telephone and GPS antenna assembly.

      OK
      The antenna is not excessively dirty, and there are no objects blocking signal reception.

    OK
  2. REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the telephone and GPS antenna assembly Click here.

  3. CLEAR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

  4. CHECK DTC


    1. Drive the vehicle for at least 15 miles, manual (SOS) switch red indicator will illuminate at approximately 10 miles if problem still exists.

    2. Turn the engine switch off.

    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.

    5. Turn the Techstream on.

    6. Perform "Health Check" and check for current DTCs Click here.

      Tech Tips

      Basically, turning the engine switch off will clear the current DTC until vehicle is driven about 10 miles again with the issue.

  5. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)


    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) Click here.

      Note


      • The engine switch must be off.

      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.
