DESCRIPTION
If the power steering ECU assembly detects a malfunction, the EPS warning light comes on. At this time, the power steering ECU assembly stores the appropriate DTC in its memory.

PROCEDURE
CHECK CONNECT CONNECTOR OR INSTALL GROUND WIRE
Check the connection condition of the ECU wire sub-assembly and power steering ECU assembly connectors.

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
Turn the ignition switch off.
Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the Techstream on.
Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Data List.
Select the item "IG power supply" in the Data List and read the value displayed on the Techstream.

Disconnect the Ij2 connector from the ECU wire sub-assembly.
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Disconnect the j2 connector from the power steering ECU assembly.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
Turn the ignition switch off.
Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the Techstream on.
Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
Perform the Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the Techstream.

Check that the EPS warning light operates in accordance with the Active Test.
Tech Tips
