REAR SPOILER REMOVAL

Tech Tips

When removing the spoiler, heat the vehicle body and spoiler using a heat light.

Heating Temperature
Item Temperature
Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
Spoiler 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

Note

Do not heat the vehicle body and spoiler excessively.


  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSIST GRIP


    1. A0161LE

      Disengage the 3 claws and disconnect the cover.

    2. A015ZZA

      Remove the 2 screws and luggage compartment door assist grip.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR COVER


    1. A015YNG

      Using a clip remover, remove the 12 clips and luggage compartment door cover.

  3. REMOVE REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Put protective tape around the spoiler.

      A015ZSHE01
    2. Remove the 2 nuts.

    3. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and spoiler.

    4. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    5. Pull the piano wire and cut through the double-sided tape while disengaging the 5 clips from the vehicle body.

      Note


      • If reusing the spoiler, take care not to damage the spoiler.

      • Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    6. Remove the rear spoiler sub-assembly.
