GENERAL
This system has the following functions: auto slide open and close; one-touch auto slide open and close; one-touch auto tilt up and down; jam protection; key off operation; key-linked open and close; transmitter-linked open and close; and entry lock switch-linked close.
FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT
| Component | Outline |
|---|---|
| Sliding roof ECU (Sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) | Sliding roof ECU controls the rotational direction of the motor, which tilts or slides sliding roof glass. |
| Sliding roof switch assembly (Map light assembly) | Operational signals are sent from the sliding roof switch built into the map light assembly to the sliding roof ECU. |
SYSTEM OPERATION
The sliding roof has the following features.
| Function | Outline |
|---|---|
| Auto open and close | This function opens or closes the sliding roof in 7 stages according to the sliding roof rotary switch position. |
| One-touch auto open and close | Pushing the sliding roof rotary switch once enables the sliding roof to be opened to the comfort stop position or fully closed. If the rotary switch is pushed again during the sliding roof open or close operation, the sliding roof will stop the operation. |
| One-touch auto tilt up and down | This function tilt up or down the sliding roof according to the sliding roof rotary switch position. |
| Jam protection | The "jam protection" function automatically stops the sliding roof and moves it open half way (or fully tilt up) if a foreign object gets jammed in the sliding roof during close or tilt down operation. |
| Key-off operation | The "key-off operation" function makes it possible to operate the sliding roof for approx. 43 seconds after the engine switch is turned to on (ACC) or off, if the front doors are not opened. |
| Key-linked open and close function | When key is not in the vehicle, the driver's door is locked, and the key in the driver's door is turned and maintained in the lock direction for 2.5 seconds or more, the sliding roof ECU activates the sliding roof motor to close the sliding roof while the key is turned. Similarly, when the driver's door is unlocked, turning and maintaining the driver's door key in the unlock direction for 2.5 seconds or more will cause the sliding roof to be opened. |
| Transmitter-linked open and close function | When the multiplex network master switch receives an unlock signal from the transmitter continuously for longer than 3.4 seconds, the sliding roof ECU control the sliding roof motor in accordance with the signal to open the sliding roof. Similarly, when the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH) receives an lock signal from the transmitter continuously for longer than 3.4 seconds, the sliding roof ECU control the sliding roof motor in accordance with the signal to close the sliding roof. |
| Entry lock switch-linked close | When the multiplex network master switch receives a lock signal from the entry lock switch continuously for longer than 4.0 seconds, the sliding roof ECU control the sliding roof motor in accordance with the signal to close the sliding roof. |
| Sliding roof open warning | When the engine switch is turned from on (IG) to off and the driver door is opened with the sliding roof open, the buzzer in the combination meter assembly sounds once. Then, the warning message appears on the multi-information display. |
