POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM Front Passenger Side Power Window does not Operate with Front Passenger Side Power Window Switch

DESCRIPTION

When the engine is running or the engine switch is on (IG) and window lock switch is OFF, the front power window regulator motor assembly (for front passenger side) is operated by the multiplex network switch assembly (for front passenger side). The front power window regulator motor assembly (for front passenger side) has motor, regulator, and sensor functions.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • When the front power window regulator motor assembly (for front passenger side) connector, the multiplex network master switch assembly connector or the multiplex network switch assembly (for front passenger side) connector is disconnected, the power window control system must be initialized Click here.

  • Since the power window control system has functions that use multiplex communication, first confirm that there is no malfunction in the multiplex communication system by inspecting the multiplex communication functions in accordance with the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedures Click here. Then, conduct the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FUSE


    1. Remove the FR DOOR RH* fuse from the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH).


      • *: for LHD

    2. Remove the FR DOOR LH* fuse from the main body ECU LH (cowl side junction block LH).


      • *: for RHD

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Disconnect the multiplex network switch assembly (for front passenger side) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  6. INSPECT FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side)


    1. Remove the front power window regulator motor assembly (for front passenger side ) Click here.

    2. Check power window regulator motor operation:


      1. Apply battery voltage to connector terminals 1 and 2.

        Note

        Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1 and 2.

      2. Check that the motor gear rotates smoothly as follows.

        Motor gear rotates clockwise

    3. Check PTC operation:

      Note

      This check must be performed with the power window regulator and door glass installed on the vehicle.


      1. Install the front power window regulator motor assembly (for front passenger side ) Click here.

      2. Connect an electrical tester DC 400 A probe to the wire harness of terminal 2.

        Note

        Match the arrow mark of the probe with the direction of the current flow.

      3. Fully close the door glass by pulling up the multiplex network switch assembly (for front passenger side). Wait for approximately 60 seconds.

      4. Continue to pull up the multiplex network switch assembly (for front passenger side) and measure how long it takes for the electrical current to change from a range of 16 to 28 A to approximately 1 A (current shut-off inspection).

        Standard
        4 to 90 seconds
      5. Wait for 60 seconds after the previous step, and then push down the multiplex network switch assembly (for front passenger side).

        The front passenger side window goes down.

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SWITCH (for Front Passenger Side) - REGULATOR MOTOR)


    1. Disconnect the front power window regulator motor assembly (for front passenger side) connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
