INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

When the seat belt control ECU is replaced with a new one, Initialization must be performed Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Recheck for DTCs.

      OK
      CAN communication system DTC is not output.

    NG
    OK
  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM)


    1. Check DTC for airbag system Click here.

      OK
      Airbag system DTC is not output.

    NG
    OK
  3. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Pre-Crash / Passenger Buckle SW in the Data List and read the value displayed on the tester.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY)

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Tech Tips

    Make sure that the engine switch is off before disconnecting the cable.


    1. Disconnect the P4 (LHD) or Q6 (RHD) front seat inner belt assembly and Q62 seat belt control ECU connectors.

    2. Using SST, connect terminals 1 and 3 of connector P4 (LHD) or Q6 (RHD).

      Note

      Do not forcibly insert SST into the terminals of the connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    4. Disconnect SST from the P4 (LHD) or Q6 (RHD) connector.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and turn the engine switch on (IG).

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  8. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM)

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.


    1. Connect the connectors from the seat belt control ECU and front seat inner belt assembly (passenger side).

    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and turn the engine switch on (IG). Then wait 60 seconds.

    3. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    4. Recheck for DTCs.

      OK
      DTC B2063 is not output.

    NG
    OK
  9. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (PASSENGER SIDE)

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.


    1. Replace the front seat inner belt assembly of passenger side Click here.

  10. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM)


    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and turn the engine switch on (IG). Then wait 60 seconds.

    2. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    3. Recheck for DTCs.

      OK
      DTC B2063 is not output.
