DESCRIPTION

If the seat belt control ECU judges that there is a malfunction in its internal circuit as a result of self-diagnosis, or if the power source voltage (+B) is not input to the seat belt control ECU, this DTC will be stored.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

The pretensioner is built into the front seat outer belt assembly. Be sure to follow the correct inspection procedure, as failure to follow the correct procedure (such as inspection of incorrect connectors) may deploy the pretensioner.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FUSE (PSB FUSE)


    1. A015YULE08

      Remove the PSB fuse from the cowl side J/B LH.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      PSB fuse Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reinstall the PSB fuse to the cowl side J/B LH.

  2. INSPECT SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU (+B TERMINAL VOLTAGE)


    1. A0161G8E19

      Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some system need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

    2. Disconnect the Q61 seat belt control ECU connector.

    3. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q61-7 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch OFF 11 to 14 V
    5. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.

    6. Reconnect the Q61 seat belt control ECU connector.

    7. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery.
