DESCRIPTION

If the seat belt control ECU judges that there is a malfunction in its internal circuit as a result of self-diagnosis, or if the power source voltage (+B) is not input to the seat belt control ECU, this DTC will be stored.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • The pretensioner is built into the front seat outer belt assembly. Be sure to follow the correct inspection procedure, as failure to follow the correct procedure (such as inspection of incorrect connectors) may deploy the pretensioner.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU (+B TERMINAL VOLTAGE)


    1. A01633RE05

      Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    2. Disconnect the seat belt control ECU connector.

    3. Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q38-9 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch OFF 11 to 14 V
    5. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

    6. Reconnect the seat belt control ECU connector.

    7. Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.
