DESCRIPTION

The seat belt control ECU receives information from the distance control ECU using CAN communication and tightens the seat belt by operating the motor in the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

CAUTION:

The pretensioner is built into the front seat outer belt assembly LH. Be sure to follow the correct inspection procedure, as failure to follow the correct procedure (such as inspection of incorrect connectors) may deploy the pretensioner.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

When the seat belt control ECU is replaced with a new one, Initialization must be performed Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A015YKBE20

      Disconnect the Q13 connector of the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q13-1 - Q13-2 Always Below 1 MΩ
    3. Reconnect the Q13 connector of the front seat belt assembly LH.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU)


    1. A0160TJE15

      Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

    2. Disconnect the Q13 connector of the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

    3. Disconnect the connector Q61 of the seat belt control ECU.

    4. Using a service wire, connect Q13-1 and Q13-2 of the connector on the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

      Note

      Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q61-3 (MOL+) - Q61-4 (MOL-) Always Below 1 Ω
    6. Reconnect the Q13 connector of the seat outer belt assembly LH and Q61 connector of the seat belt control ECU.

    7. Connect the negative (-) terminal to the battery.
