FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Temporarily install the front airbag sensor with the 2 claws and pin.

    4. A0163EI

      Install the front airbag sensor with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      9.0 N*m  { 92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • If the front airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.

      • When installing the front airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

      • Make sure that the pin is securely inserted into the body hole.

      • Tighten the bolt while holding the front airbag sensor because the front airbag sensor claws and pin (stopper) are easily damaged.

    5. Connect the connector to the front airbag sensor.

      Note

      When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    6. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the front airbag sensor.

  2. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. A016043

      Engage the headlight bracket pin.

    2. Install the headlight assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

      Connect the connector as shown in the illustration.

  3. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH (for LH Side)


    1. A0162I4

      Engage the claw and the 4 clips and install the front upper fender protector LH.

    2. Engage the clip on the rubber portion of the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly with the front upper fender protector LH.

  4. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (for LH Side)

  5. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH (for RH Side)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  6. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (for RH Side)

  7. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the 2 fog light connectors.

    2. Connect the headlight cleaner hose to the windshield washer jar and pump assembly.

    3. w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-Sensor system:


      1. Connect the ultrasonic sensor connector.

      Engage the 10 claws and install the front bumper assembly.

    5. A0161S5

      Install the 2 clips and screw.

    6. A0163H6

      Install the 8 screws.

    7. A0162S2

      Install the screw.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

      Install the 2 pin hold clips.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  8. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR

      Install the 2 radiator grille protectors.

  9. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL


    1. A01638L

      Install the cool air intake duct seal with the 9 clips.

  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  11. ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIMING
