FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE


    1. A016359E02

      Connect the 2 airbag connectors.

      Note

      When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    2. Install the 2 clamps and No. 2 instrument panel wire on the front passenger airbag assembly.

  2. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. A015Z9QE02

      Engage the 5 hooks (A).

    2. Install the front passenger airbag assembly with the 5 hooks (B) on the instrument panel.

      Install the 2 screws.

  3. INSTALL SIDE NO. 2 DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT


    1. A0161J4

      Install the side No. 2 defroster nozzle duct with the screw <E>.

  4. INSTALL NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT


    1. A0163DF

      Install the No. 3 heater to register duct with the 3 screws <E>.

  5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 5 claws.

      Note

      Do not allow the wire harness to get caught in the claws.

    2. Engage the 2 clamps.

    3. Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts <A> or <B>.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    4. Install the 6 bolts <C> and nut <G>.

    5. Engage the 2 claws and install the cooler thermistor.

    6. Engage the clamps.

    7. Connect the connectors and install the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

  6. CONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Connect the connector.

      Note

      When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
