FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

    Refer to the procedure up to Remove No. 1 Console Box Duct Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Disconnect the connector.

      Note

      When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY


    1. Disengage the clamps.

    2. Disconnect the connectors.

    3. Disengage the 2 claws and separate the cooler thermistor.

    4. Remove the 6 bolts <C> and nut <G>.

    5. Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts <A> or <B>.

    6. Disengage the 2 clamps.

    7. Disengage the 5 claws and remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

  4. REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT


    1. A0163DF

      Remove the 3 screws <E> and the No. 3 heater to register duct.

  5. REMOVE SIDE NO. 2 DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT

      Remove the screw <E> and the side No. 2 defroster nozzle duct.

  6. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. A015YGME02

      Disengage the 5 hooks (A).

    3. Disengage the 5 hooks (B) and remove the front passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

      Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors.

      Note

      When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    2. Remove the 2 clamps and No. 2 instrument panel wire from the front passenger airbag assembly.
