ENTRY AND START SYSTEM (for Entry Function) Front Passenger Side Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

If the front passenger door entry unlock function does not operate but the entry lock function operates, the communication line between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. Any of the following components may have a malfunction: 1) touch sensor circuit certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly); 2) front door outside handle assembly (front passenger side); or 3) door electrical key oscillator (front passenger side).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION


    1. When the door control switch on the master switch assembly is operated, check that the locked doors unlock Click here.

      OK
      Locked doors unlock.

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the intelligent tester.

      Body (Main Body ECU RH (Cowl Side Junction Block RH))

      Passenger Lock Pos SW Front passenger side door lock position switch signal/ON or OFF

      ON: Front passenger side door is unlocked

      OFF: Front passenger side door is locked

  3. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE)


    1. Enter the following menus: Body / Entry & Start / Data List.

    2. Read the Data List according to the display on the intelligent tester.

      P-Door Touch Sensor Status of touch sensor (front passenger side) / ON or OFF

      ON: Touch sensor is touched

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)


    1. Disconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

      Disconnect the door electrical key oscillator (front passenger side) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P33-6 (SEL2) - n2-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      P33-23 (SEN2) - n2-6 (SENS) Always Below 1 Ω
      P33-6 (SEL2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P33-23 (SEN2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RHD

      P33-6 (SEL1) - o2-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω

      Disconnect the front door outside handle assembly (front passenger side) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      n1-6 (SGT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
