  2. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

    1. The power door lock control system locks/unlocks all doors.

      • The door control switch of the master switch uses the BEAN line to send lock/unlock request signals to the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH).

      • The driver door key cylinder lock/unlock request signals are sent to the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH) from the front door lock LH.

      • The passenger door control switch lock/unlock request signals are sent to the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH).

      • The main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH) receives the request signals and locks/unlocks each door.

The door control system has the following functions:

      Function Outline
Manual lock and unlock function Locks/unlocks all doors by the door control switch lock/unlock operation (manual operation).
      Key-linked lock and unlock function

Linked with the door key cylinder.

Locks/unlocks all doors when the lock/unlock operation is possible.

      Tech Tips

Key-linked lock and unlock function cannot be operated when engine switch on (IG) and driver side seat belt is fastened.

Key lock-in prevention function When the key is in the vehicle, performing the door lock operation with the lock switch on the outer handle will not lock the door.
2-step unlock function* Unlocks only the driver side door by turning the key cylinder once and unlocks the other doors by turning it twice.
Collision door lock release If the SRS has been deployed and the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH) has detected the signal that is output from the airbag sensor, the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH) will unlock all doors.
      Shift-linked automatic door lock*

When the conditions listed below are all met, this function causes all doors to automatically lock:

      • The engine switch is on (IG).

      • All doors are closed.

      • The shift lever is moved out of P.

Shift-linked automatic door unlock* When the engine switch is on (IG), if the shift lever is moved to P from any other position, all the doors will be automatically unlocked.
Speed-sensitive automatic door lock When the doors are unlocked and the vehicle reaches a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more, all doors are locked.
Door open-linked automatic door unlock* When the driver side door is opened within 10 seconds after the engine switch is turned off, the other doors are unlocked.
      Double locking function
      • The double locking function also prevents the doors from being opened through the operation of the inside door knobs. Thus, the doors cannot be opened either from the inside or the outside of the vehicle.

      • To lock the doors with this function, pressing the transmitter LOCK switch, then pressing it again within 5 seconds activates the double locking function. However, as an emergency unlocking maneuver, only the driver's door can be unlocked with a key.

      Note

      • Never activate the double locking function when there are people in the vehicle because the doors cannot be opened from the inside. If the doors are locked by accident, press "UNLOCK" button of the transmitter.

      • Make sure that no one is inside the vehicle when you set the double locking function to ON, because the doors cannot be unlocked from inside while the system is ON.

*: This function is set through the customize function, as it is off by default.
