CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION
Note
The operation check below is based on the non-customized initial condition of the vehicle.
Check basic functions.
Check that all doors lock when the door lock control switch (for manual operation) is turned to lock and all doors unlock when turned to unlock.
Check that all doors lock when the driver side door lock key cylinder is turned to lock using the key.
Check that only the driver side door unlocks when the key cylinder is turned to unlock once using the key. Then, check that the other doors unlock when the key cylinder is turned to unlock again within 3 seconds (2-step unlocking function).
Check the key lock-in prevention function.
Note
In order to prevent the key from being locked in, the following inspection should be performed with the driver side door glass open.
Turn the engine switch on (IG) or (ACC).
With the driver side door open, check that all doors unlock immediately after the door lock knob for the driver side door is locked.
With the driver side door open, check that all doors unlock immediately after the door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to lock.
With the driver side door open, lock the driver side door lock knob and hold it for 2 seconds or more, then close the driver side door and check that all doors unlock.
Check the security function.
Close all doors with the driver side door glass open so that the door control switch can be operated from outside the vehicle.
Remove the key from the inside the vehicle, open the driver side door and then close and lock the door without using the key. Then, check that all doors do not unlock when the door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to unlock from outside the vehicle.
Without bringing the key to the inside the vehicle, close and lock the driver side door with the key operation. Under this condition, check that all doors do not unlock when the door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to unlock from outside the vehicle.
Without bringing the key to the inside the vehicle, close the driver side door and lock the door with the wireless door lock operation. Then, check that all doors do not unlock when the door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to unlock from outside the vehicle.
Tech Tips
Check that the security function is canceled under the following conditions:
The engine switch is turned on (IG).
The driver side door is unlocked using the key.
The door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to unlock after the door lock knob is unlocked manually.
The doors are unlocked by wireless operation.
Check the illumination function.
Set the map light switch to the door position.
With all the doors locked, check that the driver side door unlocks when the driver side door lock cylinder is turned to unlock using the key and that the map light turns on.
Check that the map light turns off in approximately 15 seconds if the doors have not been opened.
Check the driver door-linked automatic door unlock function.
When the driver's door is closed, turning the engine switch from on (IG) to off and opening the driver door within 10 seconds will automatically unlock all doors.
Tech Tips
The default setting for the driver door-linked automatic door unlock function is off. If necessary, the function must be set to on through the customize function.
Check the key-linked 2-step unlock function.
Lock all doors.
Check that only the driver side door unlocks when the driver side door lock cylinder is turned to unlock once using the key and other doors unlock when turned to unlock consecutively once again.
Tech Tips
The default setting of the key-linked 2-step unlock function for vehicle models with the double locking system is off. If necessary, the function must be set to on through the customize function.
Check the shift linked automatic door lock function.
When the engine switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is moved from P to a position other than P, check that all doors lock automatically.

The default setting for the shift linked automatic door lock function is off. If necessary, the function must be set to on through the customize function.
The automatic locking operation is disabled if the crash detection sensor (built into the center airbag sensor) unlocking system has a malfunction when the engine switch is on (IG) and all doors are closed.
Check the shift linked automatic door unlock function.
When the engine switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is moved to P from a position other than P, check that all doors unlock automatically.
Tech Tips
The default setting for the shift linked automatic door unlock function is off. If necessary, the function must be set to on through the customize function.
Check the speed-sensitive automatic door lock function.
When a door is unlocked and the vehicle is driven at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) or more, check that all doors automatically lock at once (automatic door lock).

The automatic locking operation is disabled if the crash detection sensor (built into the center airbag sensor) unlocking system has a malfunction when the engine switch is on (IG) and all doors are closed.
CHECK DOUBLE LOCK FUNCTION (w/ DOUBLE LOCKING SYSTEM)
Note
Never activate the double locking function when someone is inside the vehicle. The doors cannot be opened from the inside the vehicle. If the doors are locked accidentally, press the transmitter UNLOCK switch.
Do not activate the double locking function when there are people in the vehicle because the doors cannot be opened from the inside the vehicle. Under emergency conditions, such as if the power has been cut, this function can be cancelled by inserting the key (mechanical key) into the driver door key cylinder and turning it to the unlock side.
Check that the double locking function is set.
Open all the windows.
Turn the engine switch off.
Open and close the driver side door, and make sure that all doors including the luggage compartment door are closed securely.
Press the transmitter LOCK switch twice within 5 seconds, and check that the hazard warning lights flash once as an answer back.
Try to unlock all doors with the inside handle of the vehicle, and check that none of the doors unlock.
Note
The double locking function cannot be set without using the transmitter.
The double locking function is not applicable to the luggage compartment door.
Check that the double locking function is canceled.
Press the transmitter UNLOCK switch while the double locking function is set, and check that the hazard warning lights flash twice as an answer back.
Check that the doors can be opened both by the inside handle and the outside handle.
Tech Tips
If the battery of the transmitter is depleted, only the driver side door can be opened using the key. However, the theft deterrent system still remains on. The theft alarm will sound when the door is opened without using the transmitter.
