Tech Tips

If "+B or GND short malfunction of communication bus" DTCs (B1214 and B1215) are detected at the same time as "communication stop" DTC B1206, perform troubleshooting for the "+B or GND short malfunction of communication bus" DTCs first Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FUSE (MPX-B)


    1. Remove the MPX-B fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      MPX-B fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    OK
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. A015ZAXE40

      Disconnect the M20 switch connector*1.

    2. Disconnect the L22 switch connector*2.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    4. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

      M20-15 (CPUB)*1 - Body ground

      L22-15 (CPUB)*2 - Body ground

      Always 11 to 14 V

      M20-12 (E)*1 - Body ground

      L22-12 (E)*2 - Body ground

      Always Below 1 Ω

      • *1: for LHD

      • *2: for RHD

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR


    1. Disconnect the M20, Q3 and P33 connectors*1.

    2. Disconnect the L22, RJ and P33 connectors*2.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      M20-3 (MPX1)*1 - Q3-15 (MPX1)

      L22-3 (MPX1)*2 - P33-27 (MPX1)

      Always Below 1 Ω

      M20-2 (MPX2)*1 - P33-28 (MPX2)

      L22-2 (MPX2)*2 - RJ-21 (MPX1)
