Tech Tips

If "+B of GND short malfunction of communication bus" DTCs (B1214 and B1215) are detected at the same time as "communication stop" DTC B1206, repair the "+B or GND short malfunction of communication bus" DTCs first Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FUSE (FR DOOR LH*1, FR DOOR RH*2)


    1. Remove the FR DOOR LH fuse from the main body ECU LH (cowl side junction block LH)*1.

    2. Remove the FR DOOR RH fuse from the main body ECU LH (cowl side junction block LH)*2.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      FR DOOR LH fuse*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      FR DOOR RH fuse*2 Always Below 1 Ω

      • *1: for LHD

      • *2: for RHD

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. A01615OE09

      Disconnect the M7 switch connector*1.

    2. Disconnect the L17 switch connector*2.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    4. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

      M7-10 (BDR)*1 - Body ground

      L17-10 (BDR)*2 - Body ground

      Always 11 to 14 V

      M7-2 (GND)*1 - Body ground

      L17-2 (GND)*2 - Body ground

      Always Below 1 Ω

      • *1: for LHD

      • *2: for RHD

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR


    1. Disconnect the M7, Q3 and P33 connectors*1.

    2. Disconnect the L17, RJ and P33 connectors*2.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      M7-7 (MPX1)*1 - Q3-15 (MPX1)

      L17-7 (MPX1)*2 - P33-27 (MPX1)

      Always Below 1 Ω

      M7-8 (MPX2)*1 - P33-28 (MPX2)

      L17-8 (MPX2)*2 - RJ-21 (MPX1)
