PARKING BRAKE PEDAL REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for LHD)

  3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 2 front hooks of the rear seat cushion assembly from the vehicle body.

      Note

      Follow the instructions below carefully as the cushion frame deforms easily.


      1. Choose a hook to detach first. Place your hands near the hook as shown in the illustration. Then lift the seat cushion to detach the hook.

      2. Repeat for the other hook.

    2. Disengage the 2 rear hooks of the seat cushion from the child restraint seat anchor bracket.

    3. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly.

  4. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

      Remove the 2 clips and No. 2 console box duct.

  6. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the cover on the other side.

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for LHD)

      Put protective tape around the rear door scuff plate.

    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips.

      Disengage the 5 claws and remove the the rear door scuff plate LH.

  9. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (for LHD)

      Remove the bolt and separate the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

  10. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH (for LHD)

      Disengage the 3 claws and 5 clips, and remove the lower center pillar garnish LH.

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (for RHD)

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  12. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (for RHD)

  13. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH (for RHD)

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  14. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST LH (for LHD)


    1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the front floor footrest LH.

  15. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST RH (for RHD)


    1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the front floor footrest RH.

  16. REMOVE NO. 3 DASH PANEL INSULATOR PAD


    1. Remove the clip and No. 3 dash panel insulator pad.

  17. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR SILENCER PAD LH (for LHD)

  18. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR SILENCER PAD RH (for RHD)

  19. REMOVE REAR AIR DUCT GUIDE LH (for LHD)

  20. REMOVE REAR AIR DUCT GUIDE RH (for RHD)

  21. REMOVE NO. 2 REAR AIR DUCT (for LHD)

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 REAR AIR DUCT (for RHD)

  23. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Disconnect the holder (with connectors).

      Note

      When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and center airbag sensor assembly.

  24. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FLOOR REAR SUB PANEL

      Turn back the floor carpet in order to remove the front upper floor rear sub panel.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts.

    3. Disengage the 8 clamps, and remove the front upper floor rear sub panel from the body.

  25. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY

  26. LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE (for LHD)

      Remove the lock nut from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    2. Loosen the No. 1 wire adjusting nut and parking brake.

  27. LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE (for RHD)

      Remove the lock nut from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    2. Loosen the No. 1 wire adjusting nut and parking brake.

  28. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE RETURN WITH DAMPER SPRING

      Remove the parking brake return with damper spring.

  29. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER


    1. A0160LE

      Remove the 2 bolts, and separate the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer.

      Slide the rubber boot as shown in the illustration.

      Remove the parking brake equalizer from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

  30. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 3 nuts, and separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the body.

      Remove the 2 nuts and separate the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

    4. Remove the 3 nuts and parking brake control pedal assembly from the body.

  31. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR DUCT (for RHD)

      Disengage the claw and guide, remove the No. 1 air duct.

  32. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

      Remove the 2 nuts from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    2. A0160JP

      Remove the 2 bolts, and separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the body.

    3. A0161T9

      Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

    4. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and parking brake control pedal assembly.
