VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C1210/36, C1336/98

DTC Code DTC Name
C1210/36 Zero Point Calibration of Yaw Rate Sensor Undone
C1336/98 Zero Point Calibration of Acceleration Sensor Undone

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU receives signals from the yaw rate and acceleration sensor through the CAN communication system.

The yaw rate sensor has a built-in acceleration sensor and detects the vehicle's condition using 2 circuits (GL1, GL2).

If there is trouble in the bus lines between the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and the CAN communication system, DTCs U0123/62 (Lost Communication with Yaw Rate Sensor Module) and U0124/95 (Lost Communication with Lateral Acceleration Sensor Module) are output.

The DTCs are also output when the calibration has not been completed.

DTC Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1210/36 Vehicle is driven with zero point calibration of yaw rate sensor undone.
  • Skid control ECU

  • Yaw rate and acceleration sensor

  • Zero point calibration undone

(Perform zero point calibration and check for DTCs.

If this DTC is not output again, the sensor is normal)

C1336/98

Either of the following is detected:

  1. The vehicle is driven in the normal mode with zero point calibration undone.

  2. After the zero point has been obtained, the zero point voltage of the sensor is not between 2.38 V and 2.62 V.

  • Skid control ECU

  • Yaw rate and acceleration sensor

  • Zero point calibration undone

(Perform zero point calibration and check for DTCs.

If this DTC is not output again, the sensor is normal)

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

When replacing the skid control ECU, perform zero point calibration and store system information Click here.

Tech Tips

When U0123/62, U0124/95 and/or U0126/63 is output together with C1210/36 and/or C1336/98, inspect and repair trouble areas indicated by U0123/62, U0124/95 and/or U0126/63 first Click here.

PROCEDURE

  1. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR

    1. Perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor Click here.

    NEXT
  2. RECONFIRM DTC

    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    3. Start the engine.

    4. Driving the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (18 mph) or more, turn the steering wheel, and decelerate (depress the brake pedal).

    5. Check if the same DTC is recorded Click here.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      DTCs (C1210/36 and/or C1336/98) are output A
DTCs (C1210/36 and C1336/98) are not output B

      Tech Tips

      • The DTCs are recorded because zero point calibration has not been completed.

      • End the procedure because the same DTCs were not recorded after completion of zero point calibration.

  3. CHECK YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR INSTALLATION

    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor has been installed properly Click here.

      OK
The sensor should be tightened to the specified torque.
The sensor should not be tilted.
