DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Distance Control Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The distance control switch sets the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode. The vehicle-to-vehicle distance set value can be changed by operating the cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch) while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation.

When the distance control ECU is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT CRUISE DISTANCE SWITCH ASSEMBLY (DISTANCE CONTROL SWITCH)


    1. A01626U

      Remove the cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch) Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      J133-3 (CCS) - J133-4 (ECC) Press continuously cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch) Below 1 Ω
      J133-3 (CCS) - J133-4 (ECC) Release cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch) 10 kΩ or higher

    3. Install the cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch) Click here.

    REPLACE CRUISE DISTANCE SWITCH ASSEMBLY (DISTANCE CONTROL SWITCH) Click here

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CRUISE DISTANCE SWITCH - DISTANCE CONTROL ECU, BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the distance control ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J133-3 (CCS) - J17-16 (MODE) Always Below 1 Ω
      J133-3 (CCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J133-4 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    3. Reconnect the distance control ECU connector.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  3. INSPECT DISTANCE CONTROL ECU


    1. A0162YHE02

      Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      J17-16 (MODE) - Body ground Press continuously cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch) 0 to 2 V
      Release cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch) 11 to 14 V
