COOLING FAN MOTOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. Disconnect the cooling fan motor connector.

    2. Check that the motor turns smoothly when the battery is connected to the fan motor connector.

    3. A0161UZE01

      Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Current
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2

      20°C (68°F)

      at 12 V

      		 18.0 to 22.0 A

      If the result is not as specified, replace the cooling fan motor.

  2. INSPECT NO. 2 COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. Disconnect the No. 2 cooling fan motor connector.

    2. Check that the motor turns smoothly when the battery is connected to the fan motor connector.

      Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Current
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2

      20°C (68°F)

      at 12 V

      		 18.0 to 22.0 A

      If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 cooling fan motor.
