FUEL INJECTOR (for Port Injection) INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (for Port Injection)


    1. A015Z2WE02

      Apply gasoline to 2 new O-rings and install them to each fuel injector assembly.

      Note

      Check that there is no damage or foreign matter in the groove of the fuel injector assembly when installing the O-ring.

    2. A015ZKDE02

      Install the fuel injector assembly to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly and No. 2 fuel delivery pipe subassembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Make sure that there are no scratches or foreign matter in or around the insertion hole of the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly and No. 2 fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly

      • When inserting the fuel injector assembly, be careful not to damage the O-ring.

      • Be sure to fit part B of each fuel injector assembly between the tabs labeled A on the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly and No. 2 fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

  2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Port Injection)


    1. A016166

      Install the 2 spacers to the intake air surge tank assembly.

    2. Install the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly (with fuel injector assembly) to the intake air surge tank assembly.

    3. A015Z9P

      Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
    4. A015ZKDE01

      Check that part B of the fuel injector assembly is between the tabs labeled A on the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Port Injection)


    1. A0160ZU

      Install the 2 spacers to the intake air surge tank assembly.

    2. Install the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly (with fuel injector assembly) to the intake air surge tank assembly.

    3. A0162OK

      Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
    4. A015ZKDE02

      Check that part B of the injector is between the tabs labeled A on the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

  4. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER ASSEMBLY (for Port Injection)


    1. Install the 2 fuel pressure pulsation damper assemblies and fuel tube sub-assembly Click here.

  5. CONNECT NO. 3 FUEL HOSE


    1. A0160HJE02

      Push in the fuel tube connector to the No. 3 fuel hose until the fuel tube connector makes a "click" sound.

      Note


      • Check that there is no damage or foreign objects on the fuel pipe connectors.

      • After connecting, check that the fuel tube connector and the pipe are securely connected by pulling on them.

    2. A0160LG

      Install the 2 fuel pipe clamps.

  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  7. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK


    1. Check fuel pump operation.


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

        Note

        Do not start the engine.

      3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

      4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump / Speed.

      5. Check for pressure in the fuel inlet tube from the fuel line. Check that sounds of fuel flowing in the fuel tank can be heard. If no sounds can be heard, check the instrument panel junction block, fuel pump, ECM and wiring connectors.

    2. Inspect for fuel leaks.


      1. Check that there are no fuel leaks from the fuel system after performing any maintenance. If there is a fuel leak, repair or replace parts as necessary.

    3. Turn the engine switch off.

    4. Disconnect the intelligent tester from the DLC3.
