KNOCK SENSOR INSTALLATION

  1. INSTALL KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR

    1. A0160MVE09

      Install the 4 knock control sensors with the 4 bolts so that the sensors are angled as shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      The acceptable installation angle of the knock control sensors is within +/- 10° from the horizontal position.

    2. Connect the 4 knock control sensor connectors.

  2. INSTALL CASE SEPARATOR

    1. A015Z2V

      Install the case separator with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
    2. A0161F0

      Connect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

  3. INSTALL NO. 4 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Temporarily install the No. 4 fuel pipe sub-assembly.

    2. A015ZLOE01

      Using a 19 mm union nut wrench, tighten the No. 4 fuel pipe sub-assembly in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      without a union nut wrench
      30 N*m  { 306 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf }
      with a union nut wrench
      27 N*m  { 275 kgf*cm, 20 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      After installing the No. 4 fuel pipe sub-assembly, check that the No. 4 fuel pipe sub-assembly protector contacts the separator case.

      Tech Tips

      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.8 in.).

      • Make sure that the union nut wrench and torque wrench are connected in a straight line.

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    1. A0163KT

      Install the No. 2 engine cover sub-assembly LH.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. A0160E4

      Install the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.

  6. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the intake air surge tank assembly Click here.

  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  8. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK

    1. Check fuel pump operation.

      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

        Note

        Do not start the engine.

      3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

      4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump / Speed.

      5. Check for pressure in the fuel inlet tube from the fuel line. Check that sounds of fuel flowing in the fuel tank can be heard. If no sounds can be heard, check the instrument panel junction block, fuel pump, ECM and wiring connectors.

    2. Inspect for fuel leaks.

      1. Check that there are no fuel leaks from the fuel system after performing any maintenance. If there is a fuel leak, repair or replace parts as necessary.

    3. Turn the engine switch off.

    4. Disconnect the intelligent tester from the DLC3.
