NAVIGATION SYSTEM (for HDD) Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the steering pad switch assembly and display and navigation module display illumination when the light control switch is in the tail or head position.

The display and navigation module display is connected to the combination meter assembly. The panel switch illumination for the display and navigation module display is controlled by the rheostat switch.

Tech Tips

If a malfunction occurs in the rheostat switch circuit, the rheostat switch controlled illumination for the display and navigation module display panel switches and other panel switches may not function correctly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • The vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Before servicing (including removal or installation of parts), be sure to read Precaution for Supplemental Restraint System Click here.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK ILLUMINATION

    1. Check if the illumination for the display and navigation module display, steering pad switch assembly, glove box or others (hazard switch, etc.) comes on when the light control switch is turned to the tail or head position.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
Illumination comes on for all components except steering pad switch assembly. A
Illumination comes on for all components except display and navigation module display. B
No illumination comes on (display and navigation module display, steering pad switch assembly, glove box or others (hazard switch, etc.)). C
Neither the panel switch illumination for the display and navigation module display* nor other panel switch illumination* come on. (*Controlled by the rheostat switch) D

      Tech Tips

      2.5 rotations to the left
      2.5 rotations to the right

      Note

The spiral cable sub-assembly is an important part of the SRS airbag system. Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable sub-assembly may prevent the airbag from deploying. Refer to the pages shown in the brackets.
