INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Depending on the parts that are replaced during vehicle inspection or maintenance, performing initialization, registration or calibration may be needed. Refer to Precaution for Navigation System Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY))


    1. Disconnect the J137 multi-media module receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the R5 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J137-29 (MACC) - R5-15 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      J137-27 (MIN+) - R5-16 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      J137-48 (MIN-) - R5-17 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      J137-49 (SNS2) - R5-6 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      J137-29 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J137-27 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J137-48 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J137-28 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J137-49 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  2. INSPECT MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY


    1. Reconnect the J137 multi-media module receiver assembly connector.

    2. Reconnect the R5 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      J137-28 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      J137-48 (MIN-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  3. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)


    1. Remove the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly).

  4. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)


    1. Reconnect the J137 multi-media module receiver assembly connector.

    2. Reconnect the R5 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (ACC).

      Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 16 (MCO+) and 17 (MCO-) of the R5 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.

    5. Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using the oscilloscope.

  5. REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the telephone microphone assembly Click here.

    2. Check if the same malfunction recurs.
