SLIDING ROOF HOUSING INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Install the sliding roof weatherstrip as follows:


      1. Position the joint of the weatherstrip at the rear center.

      2. Align the marks on the weatherstrip with the middle marks at the corners of the sliding roof panel and install the weatherstrip.

      3. Install the lip of the weatherstrip firmly.

  2. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the sliding roof housing sub-assembly with the 7 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    2. Install the 8 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

      Engage the claw.

    4. Install the room light bracket with the nut.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    5. Connect the 4 sliding roof drain hoses.

      Note

      Be sure to install the drain hoses properly to prevent entry of water.

    6. Connect each clamp.

  3. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, temporarily install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 screws.

      Perform a level check.


      1. Check the difference in level for "a" between the roof panel and the upper surface of the weatherstrip when the sliding roof glass is fully closed.

        "+" represents the condition that the glass is above the panel level. "-" represents the condition that the glass is below the panel level.

      Perform a gap check.


      1. Check the gap between the roof panel and roof glass.

        Note

        The gap must be even all around.

    4. After adjusting the sliding roof glass, using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 screws.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

  4. INSPECT WATER LEAK


    1. After adjusting the sliding roof glass sub-assembly, inspect for water leaks.

    2. If there are any leaks, readjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.

  5. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH


    1. A017FL5

      Engage the 5 claws and install the sliding roof side garnish LH.

  6. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.

  7. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIR BAG ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)


    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.

    2. Check that the battery negative (-) cable is disconnected.

      CAUTION:

      Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

    3. Temporarily install the curtain shield airbag assembly to the body panel with the 11 hooks.

      Note

      Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly when installing it.

    4. Install 11 new bolts.

      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Tighten the bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

    5. Connect the curtain shield airbag connector.

      Note

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  8. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIR BAG ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.

  9. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY


    1. A017EKD

      Pull the roof headlining assembly into the vehicle through the back door.

      Note

      Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or body interior.

    2. Install the 3 clips.

    3. Connect the sliding roof drive gear connector.

    4. Connect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly connector to the rear pillar RH.

    5. Connect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly connector and engage the 3 clamps to the front pillar RH.

    6. Install the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly to the front pillar RH with the bolt.

    7. w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System:


      1. Connect the No. 1 roof wire connector to the rear pillar LH.

    8. Connect the No. 1 roof wire connectors and engage the 3 clamps to the front pillar LH.

      Note

      After installation, make sure that the back door weatherstrip does not interfere with the roof headlining assembly.

  10. INSTALL VISOR HOLDER

      Engage the 2 claws.

    2. Push in the visor holder as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.

  11. INSTALL SUN ROOF OPENING TRIM MOULDING

      Align the joining point of the moulding with the notch of the roof headlining assembly, and install the sun roof opening trim moulding.

      Note

      After installation, check that the corners fit correctly.

  12. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING TRIM CLIP STOPPER

      Install the roof headlining trim clip stopper with the bolt.

    2. Engage the 3 claws.

    3. Connect the rear No. 1 seat lock cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Engage the 2 claws and connect the rear No. 1 seat lock cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

    5. Return the seatback to the upright position.

    6. Pull up the adjuster's lock piece to lock it as shown in the illustration.

      When pressing the lock piece, make sure the adjuster's spring is not compress.

    1. Check that the left and right adjusters lock simultaneously when sliding the seat.

    2. If the left and right adjusters do not lock simultaneously, adjust by loosening the bolts securing the seat.

      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

  118. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF SYSTEM


    1. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

    2. When the roof glass is fully closed, press the OPEN switch for 0.3 seconds or more. Check that the roof glass automatically slides until it is fully opened.

    3. When the roof glass is fully open, press the CLOSE switch for 0.3 seconds or more. Check that the roof glass automatically slides until it is fully closed.

    4. When the roof glass is fully closed, press the UP switch for 0.3 seconds or more. Check that the roof glass automatically tilts until it is fully tilted upward.

    5. When the roof glass is fully tilted upward, press the DOWN switch for 0.3 seconds or more. Check that the roof glass automatically tilts until it is fully tilted downward.

    6. When the auto operation is operating, check that pressing any personal light switch stops the roof glass operation.

      Tech Tips

      When pressing the switch for 0.3 seconds or less, the roof glass moves but auto operation does not operate.
