POWER BACK DOOR SYSTEM Touch Sensor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the power back door ECU receives a jam signal from the touch sensor while the power back door closer is operating, the ECU reverses the back door operation and opens the door.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (POWER BACK DOOR TOUCH SENSOR)


    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the power back door touch sensor.

      Back door (Power back door ECU)

      ON: Power back door touch sensor is LH pressed

      OFF: Power back door touch sensor is LH not pressed

      ON: Power back door touch sensor RH is pressed

      OFF: Power back door touch sensor RH is not pressed

      The display is as specified in the normal condition.

  2. INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR TOUCH SENSOR

      Remove the power back door touch sensor. Click here

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Not pressed Approx. 1 kΩ
      1 - 2 Pressed Below 100 Ω

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER BACK DOOR TOUCH SENSOR - POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT AND BODY GROUND)

      LH Side


      1. Disconnect the T7 sensor connectors.

      2. Disconnect the O14 ECU connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        T7-1 (OSL) - O14-15 (OSL) Always Below 1 Ω
        T7-2 (OSLE) - O14-14 (OSE) Always Below 1 Ω
        T7-1 (OSL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        T7-2 (OSLE) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      RH Side


      1. Disconnect the T8 sensor connectors.

      2. Disconnect the O14 ECU connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        T8-1 (OSR) - O14-13 (OSR) Always Below 1 Ω
        T8-2 (OSRE) - O14-14 (OSE) Always Below 1 Ω
        T8-1 (OSR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        T8-2 (OSRE) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
