DESCRIPTION

When the power back door cannot be closed using the power back door closer switch, one of the following may be malfunctioning: 1) power back door closer switch circuit, or 2) power back door drive unit (power back door ECU).

  1. Click here

    READ VALUE ON INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Check the Data List to determine if the power back door closer switch functions properly.

      Table 1. Back door (Power back door ECU)

      ON: Power back door closer switch ON

      OFF: Power back door closer switch OFF

      OK
      The power back door closer switch functions as specified in the normal condition.

    INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR CLOSER SWITCH


    1. A017FGZE02

      Remove the power back door closer switch (Click here).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω
      1 - 2 Free (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER BACK DOOR CLOSER SWITCH - POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT)


    1. A017C9CE03

      Disconnect the T10 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the O14 ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T10-1 - O14-4 (DS1) Always Below 1 Ω
      T10-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      T10-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
