REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF THE BATTERY TERMINAL
Before performing electrical work, disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal in order to prevent a short in the system.
Before disconnecting the battery cable, turn the ignition switch and lighting switches off and loosen the terminal nut completely. Perform these operations without prying on the terminal.
After the battery terminal is disconnected, the memories of the clock, radio, DTCs, etc. are erased. Before disconnecting the terminal, check and make a note of them.
Note
When disconnecting the battery negative (-) terminal, initialize the following systems after the terminal is reconnected.

POINTS TO NOTE WHEN SERVICING
Setting the maximum steering angle must be carried out with the engine on. Apply the parking brake, depress the brake pedal, move the shift lever to the N position, and ensure that the vehicle is not moving.
Pay attention to the following points when servicing:
After disconnecting the battery cable, "SYSTEM INITIALIZING" appears on the screen. In this case, correct the steering angle neutral point Click here.
After replacing the television camera ECU, "SYSTEM NOT READY" appears on the screen. In this case, set the maximum steering angle and steering angle neutral point, and adjust the line display position. In addition, when the television camera assembly is replaced or its position changes, readjustment of the line display position is required Click here.
