NAVIGATION SYSTEM (for HDD) Microphone Circuit between Microphone and Navigation Receiver Assembly

DESCRIPTION

This circuit sends a microphone voice signal from the telephone microphone assembly to the navigation receiver assembly.

It also supplies power from the navigation receiver assembly to the telephone microphone assembly.

  1. INSPECT NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      E2-5 (MACC) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC 4 to 6 V
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E2-14 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      E2-13 (MIN-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR


    1. Disconnect the E2 navigation receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the Q15 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E2-3 (SNS2) - Q15-4 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      E2-5 (MACC) - Q15-1 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      E2-4 (MIN+) - Q15-3 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E2-13 (MIN-) - Q15-5 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E2-3 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E2-5 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E2-4 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E2-13 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E2-14 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY


    1. Reconnect the E2 navigation receiver assembly connector.

      Reconnect the Q15 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ACC.

    4. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 3 (MIC+) and 5 (MIC-) of the Q15 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    5. Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using the oscilloscope.
