PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if a CAN communication DTC is output (Click here).

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication DTC is not output. A
      CAN communication DTC is output. B

  2. Click here

    PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Ignition switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.

      Table 1. Combination Meter:

      Needle indication is normal.

  3. Click here

    READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Ignition switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

      Table 2. Combination Meter:

      Fuel Input Fuel input signal Min.: 0, Max.: 127.5

      Fuel gauge indicates (E): 7.5 (L)

      Fuel gauge indicates (1/2): 35.0 (L)

      Fuel value signal displayed on the tester is almost the same as needle indication.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY)

      Disconnect the E1 and fuel sender gauge assembly connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E1-34 (FR) - 2 Always Below 1 Ω
      E1-19 (FE) - 1 Always Below 1 Ω
      2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E1-34 (FR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY


    1. A017DO6E01

      Disconnect the fuel sender gauge connector.

    2. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the connector according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Float Level Resistance (Ω)
      F 3.0 to 5.0
      Between E and F 3.0 to 4.0 (Gradually changes)
      E 109.0 to 111.0
    3. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly (Click here).

    4. Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E.

    5. Check if the fuel sender gauge arm is deformed.


  6. Click here

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the combination meter assembly with a new one or a normal one (Click here).

      OK
      The operation of the combination meter assembly returns to normal.
