SMART ENTRY AND START SYSTEM Back Door Entry Lock Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

If the back door entry lock function does not operate but the back door open function operates, the communication line between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. As a faulty part, the entry lock switch circuit (certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) → back door opener switch (entry lock switch)) can be considered.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Before performing the inspection, check that there are no problems related to "CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM" and "LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM".

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION


    1. When the door control switch on the master switch assembly is operated, check that the locked doors unlock Click here.

      OK
      Locked doors unlock.

    NG

    GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM Click here

    OK

  2. READ VALUE ON INTELLIGENT TESTER (BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Select Tr/B-Door Lock SW in the Data List and read the tester display.

      Entry & Start (Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly)):
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Tr/B-Door Lock SW Back door lock switch / ON or OFF ON: Back door lock switch is pushed -
      OFF: Back door lock switch is not pushed
      OK
      On the tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to the chart above.

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)

  3. CHECK BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH


    1. A017FDAE01

      Remove the back door opener switch Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Lock switch pushed Below 1 Ω
      1 - 2 Lock switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH)

      Disconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D36-7 (TSW5) - h1-1 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
      D36-7 (TSW5) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
