LIGHTING SYSTEM Rear Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU controls the rear fog relay when a signal is received from the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Check that the relay operate.

      Main Body:
      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Rear Fog Light Relay Rear fog light relay ON/OFF -
      OK
      Rear fog light relay operates. (Rear fog light comes on.)

    OK
  2. INSPECT FUSE (RR FOG)


    1. Remove the RR FOG fuse from the instrument panel junction block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      RR FOG fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    OK
  3. INSPECT REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY (RR FOG)


    1. A017BZ1E87

      Remove the rear fog light relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Apply the battery voltage between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY)


    1. A017DRRE01

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Rear fog light relay terminal 5 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      Rear fog light relay terminal 2 - Body ground Light control switch OFF → TAIL Below 1 V → 11 to 14 V

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU)


    1. Disconnect the D8 main body ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Rear fog light relay terminal 1 - D8-14 (RFGO) Always Below 1 Ω
      D8-14 (RFGO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)


    1. Reconnect the D8 main body ECU connector.

    2. Install the rear fog light relay to the engine room relay block.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D8-14 (RFGO) - Body ground Light control switch in HEAD and rear fog light switch OFF → ON 11 to 14 V → Below 1 V
