DESCRIPTION
The rear airbag sensor (Driver side) circuit consists of the center airbag sensor assembly, rear airbag sensor (Driver side), and side airbag sensor (Driver side).
The side airbag sensor (Driver side) and rear airbag sensor (Driver side) detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the center airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.
DTC B1630/23 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the rear airbag sensor (Driver side) circuit.

PROCEDURE
CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR (DRIVER SIDE)
Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Interchange the rear airbag sensor (Driver side) with rear airbag sensor (Passenger side) and connect the connectors to them.
Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Clear the DTCs stored in the memory Click here.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
