COMPRESSOR INSPECTION

  1. INSPECT COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (A/C LOCK SENSOR)

    1. A017CALE35

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B52-1 (SSR+) - B52-2 (SSR-) 20°C (68°F) 160 to 320 Ω

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the compressor and magnetic clutch.

  2. INSPECT COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (A/C COMPRESSOR SOLENOID)

    1. A017BNWE95

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B51-2 (SOL+) - B51-1 (SOL-) 25°C (77°F) 10.1 to 11.1 Ω

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the compressor and magnetic clutch.

  3. INSPECT COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH - MAGNETIC CLUTCH)

    1. A017CALE36

Disconnect the connector from the compressor and magnetic clutch.

    2. A017E0EE15

Disconnect the connector from the magnetic clutch.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B52-3 (MG+) - A-1 Always Below 1 Ω
B52-3 (MG+) - Body Ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the compressor and magnetic clutch.

  4. INSPECT MAGNETIC CLUTCH

    1. A017DFEE17

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-1- Body Ground 20°C (68°F) 3.8 to 4.2 Ω

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the compressor and magnetic clutch.

    2. When connector terminal 1 is connected to the positive (+) battery terminal, check that the following occurs: 1) the magnetic clutch's operating sound can be heard, and 2) the magnetic clutch's hub and rotor lock.

      OK
      1)
The magnetic clutch's operating sound can be heard.
      2)
The magnetic clutch's hub and rotor lock.

If the result is not as specified, replace the magnetic clutch.
