FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY REASSEMBLY

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

Note

If the seat is set down in another location after removing it from the vehicle, the seat may tilt and damage the front seat adjuster assembly LH due to the difference in shape between the left and right seat tracks.

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT WIRE LH


    1. Attach the 13 wire harness clamps to install the front seat wire LH.

    2. Connect the 4 connectors.

    3. Install the bolt.

      Torque:
      16 N*m  { 163 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the battery negative (-) terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

      Using a feeler gauge 1.0 mm (0.039 in.), install the seat position sensor.

      Note


      • If the seat position sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the seat position sensor with a new one.

      • When installing the seat position sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

      Tech Tips

      Be sure that the clearance between the seat position sensor and the seat rail is within 0.6 mm (0.023 in.) to 1.4 mm (0.055 in.).

    4. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, install the "TORX" screw to install the seat position sensor.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    5. Make sure that the clearance between the seat position sensor and the seat rail is within 0.6 mm (0.023 in.) to 1.4 mm (0.055 in.).

    6. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the seat position sensor.

    7. Connect the connector.

    8. Install the seat slide position sensor protector to the seat position sensor.

  3. INSTALL SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH

    1. Install the climate control blower with the 2 bolts.

    2. Connect the connector and attach the wire harness clamps.

    3. Attach the 4 claws to connect the climate control duct.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR FILTER

    1. Rotate the air filter clockwise to attach the 4 claws to install it.

  5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH

    1. Install the front seat climate control ECU LH with the 2 bolts.

    2. Connect the 2 connectors.

  6. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SEAT TRAVEL LINK

    1. Install the front No. 2 seat travel link with the bolt.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

  7. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 SEAT TRAVEL LINK

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedures described for the front No. 2 seat travel link.

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION PLATE

    1. Install the No. 1 seat cushion plate with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      16 N*m  { 163 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf }

  9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING

    1. Install the front seat cushion spring.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to install the front seat cushion spring on the other side.

  10. INSTALL FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD

    1. Install the front seat lower cushion shield with the 4 nuts.

  11. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH

    1. Attach the wire harness clamp.

    2. Install the reclining adjuster inside cover LH with the screw.

  12. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  13. INSTALL LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Lumbar Support)


    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the lumbar support adjuster assembly LH.

    2. Rotate the snap in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to attach the snap to the lumbar support adjuster assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to attach the snap on the other side.

  14. INSTALL LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Lumbar Support)


    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the lumbar support adjuster assembly RH.

    2. Rotate the snap in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to attach the snap to the lumbar support adjuster assembly RH.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to attach the snap on the other side.

  15. INSTALL SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH (BACK SIDE)

      Install the seat climate control controller LH with the 2 screws.

  16. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK FRAME ASSEMBLY LH

      Temporarily install the front seatback frame assembly LH with the 4 bolts.

    2. Push the front seatback frame assembly LH towards the rear, and tighten the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      43 N*m  { 439 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }

    3. for Driver Side:

        w/ Active Headrest:

        Attach the 9 clamps and connect the 4 connectors.

      2. A01GI9F

        w/ Pre-crash Intelligent Headrest:

        Attach the 9 clamps and connect the 4 connectors.

    4. for Front Passenger Side:

        w/ Active Headrest:

        Attach the 9 clamps and connect the 3 connectors.

        w/ Pre-crash Intelligent Headrest:

        Attach the 9 clamps and connect the 3 connectors.

        Attach the 7 clamps and connect the 2 connectors.

  17. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. w/ Active Headrest:

        Attach the 2 claws.

      2. Install the headrest adjuster with the 2 bolts.

        Torque:
        5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

        Connect the connector and attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

    2. w/ Pre-crash Intelligent Headrest:

        Attach the 2 claws to connect the connector to the connector holder.

      2. A01GNWW

        Attach the guide to install the plate.

      3. Install the screw.

        Attach the 2 claws.

      5. Install the headrest adjuster with the 2 bolts.

        Torque:
        5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

      6. Attach the 4 wire harness clamps.

        Connect the connector and attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

    3. w/ Retractable Headrest:

        Install the headrest stay cover with the 2 screws.

        Attach the 2 claws to install the cable.

        Attach the 2 claws to install the motor.

      4. A01GMMS

        Attach the 2 claws to install the headrest adjuster.

      5. Install the 4 bolts and 2 screws.

        Torque:
        21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

  18. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST BRACKET (w/ Active Headrest)

      Attach the wire harness clamp to install the front seat headrest bracket to the active headrest inflator.

  19. INSTALL ACTIVE HEADREST INFLATOR (w/ Active Headrest)

      Turn the active headrest inflator in the direction indicated by the arrow to install it.

    2. Attach the guide and 2 clamps.

    3. Install the bolt and nut.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    4. Connect the connector.

      Note

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  20. INSTALL FRONT NO. 5 SEAT SET BRACKET (w/ Shoulder Switch)

      Attach the 2 clips to install the front No. 5 seat set bracket.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  21. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER


    1. Set the separate type front seatback cover in place.

    2. for Sport Package:

      Attach the 4 pieces of fastening tape.

    3. Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seatback cover to the front seatback pad with 20 new hog rings as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seatback cover.

      • Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the separate type front seatback cover.

      Tech Tips

      Install the hog rings at the cutouts.

  22. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD


    1. Set the front seatback cover with pad in place.

    3. Attach the 3 clips.

        Note

        w/ Active Headrest:

        When replacing a deployed active headrest inflator, always replace it together with the front seat headrest assembly.

      Install the front seat headrest assembly.

  26. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER


    1. Set the separate type front seat cushion cover in place.

    2. for Driver Side:
