SEAT HEATER SYSTEM Rear Left Seat's Seat Heater does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the seat heater switch is operated, the rear power seat switch receives the signal. The rear power seat switch then sends the signal to the rear seat climate control ECU through LIN communication. The rear seat climate control ECU receives the signal and operates the seat heater.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

First perform the communication function inspections in How to Proceed with Troubleshooting to confirm that there are no LIN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this problem.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FUSE (RR-IG1-3, D RR S/HTR, P RR S/HTR)


    1. Remove the RR-IG1-3 fuse from the luggage room junction block.

    2. Remove the D RR S/HTR fuse from main body ECU.

    3. Remove the P RR S/HTR fuse from passenger side junction block.

    4. Measure the resistance of the fuses.

      Standard resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      RR-IG1-3 fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      D RR S/HTR fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      for RHD
      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      RR-IG1-3 fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      P RR S/HTR fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG

    REPLACE FUSE

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

      Disconnect the f13 ECU connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      f13-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      f13-2 (SYSB) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      f13-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (REAR POWER SEAT SWITCH)


    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the rear seat heater switch.
